At Mount Ephraim, you’ll find a blend of elegant indoor spaces and stunning gardens for both ceremonies and reception, along with luxurious accommodation for up to 22 guests in their charming country house.

And on the day will be a carefully curated selection of trusted suppliers, including florists, photographers, cake designers, musicians and magicians.  Enjoy delicious food and drinks from their exclusive partner Scott Anderson Ltd

The quiet time here at Maypole HQ isn’t just hibernation (though we do confess to a little of that!) – we are busy behind the scenes cleaning, laundering, repairing, and adding to our marquees, linings and ancillary furniture.  Cleaning matting after the Christmas markets is a whole job in itself.  Our Limewash Chiavari and Crossback Chairs all get checked over as do our internal lighting options.

Our first event of the season is the rather large Partner’s Lunch for Canterbury Rugby Club – usually seating around 350 people….check out the photo from last year of our 50ft x 100ft of beautiful Traditional Marquee with a 40ft x 40ft Petal Marquee for reception/bar.

Wow! This is unusually early to have weekends fully booked….but yes folks some weekends we have NO AVAILABILITY on Traditional, Petal & Sailcloth Celeste Marquees and some weekends we have NO AVAILABILITY on Petal Marquees……maybe the change in weather has made next years Brides & Grooms eager!  Either way if you suffer from #FOMO (we know we do!!) and have had a quote…please get in touch ASAP to secure your date!

Along with the quiet time comes the chance to take stock of what we have been doing and what we could be doing better – changing our website to be mobile compliant has been high on the agenda for some time, hence the exciting new website along with plenty of new images to give our customers some ideas as to what we can achieve.

The increasing popularity of fairy lights and festoon lights has led us to buy some stock as opposed to subcontracting this element of hire in from elsewhere….we dipped our toes into the water last season and starting offering fairy light installations, we have now added to that stock with the striking filament lamp festoon lighting – we hope the success of this aspect of hire with continue and that our bookings this summer produce some great images which we can add to our portfolio.

This time of year in the marquee industry is very quiet, but the perfect time for our crew to rejuvenate (not only themselves!) but our stock – all linings are currently being inspected, cleaned and if necessary mended. Our matting is all in the process of being steam cleaned by hand (come rain or shine!).  And furniture is being cleaned/mended/updated accordingly.  

It is also the perfect time for Admin to go through the summer bookings to ensure we are all ready for the exceptionally busy months!
